Maria Ton is a multimedia artist, with painting as her primary cornerstone. She excels at transforming overlooked materials into the extraordinary through repurposing found items. All of this is achieved through upcycling and the delicate embrace of natural textiles. Based in her adopted home of New York City for 13 years, her creations pulse with influences of the natural world. Biogeometry, light, crystalline elements and energy are all observed and explored in novel ways. Timeless themes like unity are frequently the core instigator for her, poetic expressions observed around as within herself.

Drawing inspiration from both the wild woodland of Norway, where she was raised, along with her Vietnamese roots, Maria's art is a study in contrasts: the cosmic and the classical. Largely self-taught, she has honed her craft since childhood, having the advantage of being raised by a seamstress mother. This was enriched and enlivened by formal classes, as well as a close family friend being an art teacher.

Maria has cultivated a wide range of skill in print making, acrylics, calligraphy, curation, sound and photography. In recent times she has trained in holistic healing and researched sustainability at length.
